So slowly the temperatures are getting a little more summery again… Fittingly, the outdoor pool season in Jena's Ostbad starts on Wednesday, 15 May. The gates will open for visitors at 10 a.m. on the dot.

The traditional pool at the foot of the Jenzig has, among other things, a 50-metre swimming pool, a large non-swimmer area with a wide slide, a children's paddling pool, spacious sunbathing lawns and a children's playground.

Open daily from 10 am to 6 pm in May. In June, July and August, bathers are even welcome from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. In September until the traditional end of the season on September 15, the pool is open daily from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

Extended offer: early swimming in the Ostbad and in the Schwimmparadies
Of course, the popular early swimming in the Ostbad is back this season: On Tuesdays and Thursdays, the outdoor pool is open from 7 am to 9 am. And if that's not enough of a morning swim for you, we also recommend the Schwimmparadies Jena: Early swimming continues there this year, even during the outdoor pool season. On Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays, the indoor sports pool in Lobeda-West will be open from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. The offer only pauses during the Thuringian summer vacations from June 20 to August 1. This means that early risers among water sports enthusiasts will now find a suitable offer five days a week.

Kiosks in a new design and with an extended range
Those who prefer a more leisurely and tasty experience can look forward to the newly designed kiosks in Jena's open-air swimming pools. The snack bars in the Ostbad and also in the Südbad have been completely modernized and now invite you to feast with a new design and an expanded menu. In addition to the summery outdoor pool classics of lemonade, ice cream and chips, guests can now also enjoy healthier alternatives such as vegetarian dishes, salads and fish.

New admission prices
From this season, new admission prices will apply for the Jena outdoor pools: The day ticket for adults costs 5 euros, those entitled to a discount pay 3.50 euros, children up to the age of 14 pay 2.50 euros and children up to the age of four can swim for free. You can save money by buying a 10-person ticket, family ticket or season ticket. Detailed information is available here.

Südbad and Strandschleicher already open since May 1
In addition to the Ostbad, Jena's second outdoor pool is also open for splashing around and swimming: The swimming pool in Jenaer Paradies has been open since May 1. The same opening times and admission prices apply as for the Ostbad. The Südbad is a natural pool with a swimmers' and non-swimmers' area, children's paddling pool, spacious sunbathing lawn, nudist area and children's playground. In addition, the beach bar „Strandschleicher“ offers cocktails and music as well as the popular beach volleyball courts.
