The Jenaer Bäder und Freizeit GmbH operates several swimming facilities in and around Jena, but first and foremost the GalaxSea Freizeitbad. The GalaxSea is a modern bathing complex that allows for sporty activities as well as fun water adventures. In addititon to the swimming pools, it contains a sauna area, wellness oasis and a restaurant that provide our guests with a variety of different leisure activities. Further, numerous activities such as sports and swimming courses, differently themed nights at the sauna as well as other festivities complete our offer.
During the summer months, our two outdoor pools in Jena are popular spots to go to: The Ostbad scores with its large swimming pool, the Südbad with its natural lake. Water sports enthusiasts will find attractive facilities at both outdoor pools, and children have plenty of room to splash around in the water. The spacious grounds with sunbathing lawns offer pure relaxation. The sunbathing lawn at the Südbad even includes a designated nudist area. Lastly, also the beach bar at the Schleichersee allows for fun leisure activities, as it is equipped with a beach volleyball facility, a pedal boat rental as well as a seating area that is situated in an idyllic scenery.
In Lobeda-West, the Bädergesellschaft has been building a new sports swimming hall since 2020. With eight 50-meter-long lanes suitable for holding competitions and a modern instruction pool, the new hall will significantly improve the training conditions for the city's aquatic athletes.
The Jenaer Bäder und Freizeit GmbH has been in existence since January 1, 1998. It is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stadtwerke Jena and thus a company of the Stadtwerke Jena Group.
