All preparations are going according to plan and the Jena swimming pool team is full of anticipation - it's time to go! Right on time on May 1st, the Jena Swimming and Leisure Society will start the outdoor pool season again. The swimming pool opens its gates at exactly 10 am. Then the popular outdoor pool at Schleichersee will once again become an oasis for those seeking relaxation, a paradise for water lovers and a meeting place for ambitious sportsmen and women.
So that bathers can enjoy plenty of outdoor fun during the hot summer months, the swimming pool will once again be open from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. during the summer months this year.
All opening times:
- In May from 10 am to 6 pm
- in June, July and August from 9 am to 8 pm
- in September from 10 am to 6 pm
As in the Südbad, the season at the beach bar „Strandschleicher“ starts on Wednesday, May 1. Beach volleyball courts can be reserved from the start of the season by calling 0151 163527 21.
Fans of the Ostbad will have to be patient a little longer: the season also traditionally starts two weeks later on Wednesday, May 15, 10 a.m. Early swimming will be offered this season before and after the summer vacations in both the Ostbad and the Schwimmparadies Jena; during the summer vacations only in the Ostbad.
The pool staff are still carrying out the final preparations this week before they can actually get started.
This is what the Südbad guests can look forward to:
• Non-swimmer and swimmer area in the 3.8 ha Schleichersee (max. depth 3.5 m)
• Children's paddling pool with awning
• Children's playground
• Sunbathing lawn
• Snack bar with sun terrace
• Nudist area
• Barrier-free sanitary facilities with changing table
The admission prices this year: An adult pays 5 euros for a visit to the outdoor pool, the reduced ticket costs 3.50 euros, children up to 4 years old can enter the outdoor pool free of charge and children up to 14 years old pay 2.50 euros.
