The Stadtwerke Jena GmbH is a 100-per-cent subsidiary of the city of Jena.

Stadtwerke Jena group is an umbrella company for various subsidiaries and associates with different shares, such as the Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck, a subsidiary of Stadtwerke Jena GmbH to a 72.1 per cent. Needless to say that there is a strong connection between the city of Jena and Stadtwerke as a communal enterprise.
