Reliably supplied with natural gas - even when it comes to substitute supply

When does substitute supply apply?

If you obtain natural gas from the supply grid but this natural gas consumption can not be assigned to any ongoing supply or supply contract, you will receive the substitute supply.

For example

» in case of bankruptcy of your former supplier

» in case of an invalid contract termination or suspension of delivery by your former supplier

» in case of the grid operator terminating the grid usage or balancing group contract with your supplier

» in case of a delayed change of supplier

Who is responsible for the substitute supply?

Each basic supplier is also responsible for the legally required substitute supply. In the respective cases, they ensure that you are securely and reliably being supplied with natural gas.

We are the basic supplier in Jena, Pößneck and Döbritz, as there we supply the majority of households securely and reliably with natural gas. That we guarantee the basic supply for everybody in these areas is regulated by the energy act in § 36.

How long does the substitute supply last?

The substitute supply terminates after 3 months latest.

Household customers*: If you have not concluded a natural gas contract by then, we willl automatically continue to supply you with energy within the terms of the basic supply. This will happen without you having to register separately for the basic supply.

Non-household customers: passed the 3 months, we will only be able to supply you with gas within a contractual relationship.

* Business customers that consume less than 10,000 kWh per year count as houseold customers.

This is what we offer in the substitute supply
