Obligation of enterprises to inform of

Enterprises, whose probable monthly relief amount exceeds a total of 150,000 euro, are obliged to inform their energy suppliers.
By 31 March 2023 at the latest, a self-declaration  has to be submitted in which the company informs about

» which maximum limit is to apply to the enterprise's points of withdrawal

» which share of said limit is to be considered for the respective supply relation - if the enterprise has contracted several suppliers.

» what proportion of the limit is to be applied to the individual points of withdrawal per month

Note:

When calculating the relief amounts, it is necessary to consider all points of withdrawal that are supplied with electricity, natural as and/or heat - independent from the respective grid area and the energy supplier.

How does the gas price brake work exactly?

Starting point is the annual consumption forecast for the withdrawal point in September 2022.

For 70% of this consumption quantity, the customer pays the fixed reference price. The remaining 30% is charged at the contractually agreed price. A potential over- or underconsumption is settled through the annual consumption bill.

Good to know: The consumption quantities saved are reimbursed at the agreed contract price.

Example calculation of the relief amount

for an enterprise with an annual consumption of 2 Mio. kWh and a contractually agreed consumption price of 12 ct/kWh net

The calculated relief amount is distributed evenly over the months of the year and reduces the instalment amount to be paid or - in the case of monthly billing - the invoice amount.
