A clay oven for the village, new club rooms for the fire department and much more

Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck is once again supporting regional clubs through its sponsorship program: With €15,000 from the „Stadtwerke Heimvorteil“ was used to support a total of 30 clubs in Jena, Pößneck and the region. In this way, Stadtwerke promotes voluntary activities in Jena and the region that are characterized by creativity and sustainability of the funded projects.

Associations had until the end of March to apply for donations via the Stadtwerke website. There was a great deal of interest: almost 70 associations from Jena, Pößneck and the surrounding area applied for financial support. Ines Eckert, Head of Communications at Stadtwerke Jena: "We are very pleased about the renewed high level of participation in our donation program. The range of projects to be honored includes the areas of culture and education as well as sport and cultural initiatives. The remarkable diversity and creativity behind them makes our region colorful and worth living in. Supporting this is a matter close to our hearts!

One of the recipients of a donation of 1,000 euros was the traditional Schorba club. With a great deal of voluntary commitment, a meeting place for the village community was created at the Schorba country inn, complete with a green area and playground. With the help of the donation, the facility will now be rounded off with a clay oven, which will be used at village and children's festivals.

The volunteer fire department from Ziegenrück can also look forward to a donation of 1,000 euros. The fire department association intends to use the money to make its club rooms more attractive.

Funds from the "Stadtwerke Heimvorteil" program can be applied for once a year. Funding is available for projects in the fields of culture, sport, social affairs, education and the environment. The application deadline for 2025 will be announced in fall 2024. Funding is awarded on the basis of donations.
