Book reading and lecture on gas supply yesterday, today and tomorrow

Feb 8, 2024 | Stadtwerke Jena Customer Center | Jena

From the past to the present and the future of gas supply: Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck invites you to a book reading followed by a lecture and discussion on Thursday, February 8 from 7 pm. The evening at Stadtwerke Jena Kundencenter in Saalstraße 8a is dedicated to the current challenges and future plans for Jena's gas supply.

The event starts with a reading by journalist and author Frank Michael Wagner entitled „Wie das Erdgas aus Sibirien nach Westeuropa kam“. Wagner describes the current situation on the natural gas route and reports on the possible effects on supply in Europe.

The bridge to today will then be provided by Christian Dornack, Head of Strategy at Stadtwerke Jena Netze. In a presentation, he will delve deeper into the topic of the current and future gas supply in Jena. In particular, he will discuss the plans of the municipal utilities for the further use of the existing natural gas networks as hydrogen networks and describe specific challenges and solutions for a green heat supply for Jena. Afterwards, both experts will be available for questions and discussions.

Admission to the event is free of charge. However, as the number of places is limited, advance registration is requested by phone: 03641-688 219 or by email to event@stadtwerke-jena.de
