Saale-Holzland district kicks off the 2024 cultural year with our support

As part of the anniversary year „30 years of the Saale-Holzland district“, 2024 will be the „Year of Culture“. Associations, artists and creative artists had submitted proposals for this following a call by the district administration and the Regional Action Group Saale-Holzland e.V. (RAG). A jury selected the events that will be funded as part of the 2024 Year of Culture.
With the signing of the sponsorship agreement between the Saale-Holzland district and Stadtwerke Energie Jena-Pößneck on February 19 the „Year of Culture 2024“ is complete. Stadtwerke is supporting the project with a total of 4,500 euros, thus contributing to the promotion of culture in the Saale-Holzland district.
We are delighted about the support from Stadtwerke“, says Johann Waschnewski, First Deputy Mayor of the district: „Culture in rural areas has had a difficult few years. For this reason, we want to use the 30th anniversary of the district to give it a new impetus.
In the „Year of Culture 2024“, a wide variety of cultural events are planned throughout the Saale-Holzland district from April to November. According to Johann Waschnewski, citizens are invited to celebrate together with the district and at the same time support creative artists in rural areas. He is all the more pleased that the money goes directly to the organizers.
Annett Tittmann from the Regional Action Group is also delighted with the successful cooperation between RAG, Stadtwerke and the district: „With this project, we want to specifically help new cultural events to break through.“ Cultural professionals, associations and artists were able to apply in advance for 3,000 euros each for new event formats, which will be brought to life from April onwards.
