Schützenhof

Construction project

Since 2018, Schützenhof has stood for residential quality of life in the rapidly expanding district of Jena-Nord. All 63 apartments in the new buildings on Schützenhofstrasse and Zitzmannstrasse had already been filled with life when, in 2020, what belongs together grew together: with the eleven-storey high-rise at Schützenhofstrasse 91, a landmark and point of orientation in the area, 31 spacious 2- to 4-room apartments were created by the end of 2020 after a core renovation. All apartments have at least two balconies and are therefore particularly light-flooded and airy. The curved balconies have been retained.

With the Schützenhof, we are constructing for all generations. Here, you can also live with your whole family: thanks to flexible apartment sizes of 46 to 135 m², grandparents and young families will find it possible to live together in one building.

Living environment

Varied and diverse - that's how Jena-Nord presents itself to the visitor. Picturesquely nestled between wooded hills and the course of the river Saale, buildings from the Gründerzeit mix with multi-storey buildings from the 1960s. From Schützenhof, it is only a few metres to the nearest supermarket or tram station. Thanks to its good connection to the city and the scenic location, various leisure time activities and a good school- and care offer, this district grows more and more pouplar among the young and the old. You can reach the city centre in only a few minutes by car, bus or tram, and attractive destinations such as the Jenzig or Kunitzburg are easy to reach.

Impressions

Schützenhof 91 – nominated for the German Bauherrenpreis 2022

The landmark of the residential area Jena-Nord II, visible from afar, is the high-rise building at Schützenhofstraße 91, with eleven residential storeys dating from the 1960s. The architectural classic, which is inspired by the formal language of the Bauhaus, shines into the surrounding area through its bright façade with curved balconies. The outer shell corresponds with the residential ensemble "Schützenhof" completed in 2018.

A total of 187 projects applied for the German Bauherrenpreis 2022 (award in the field of architecture). In a multi-stage process, the main jury nominated the high-rise residential building in Schützenhofstraße for this important architecture prize in the field of refurbishments, which in itself is already an appreciation.

jenawohnen Managing Director Tobias Wolfrum is delighted with the result: "The nomination alone is an award. The jury's appreciation of the elaborate refurbishment of Schützenhofstraße 91 for contemporary, family-friendly living makes us very happy."
