Green district heating for Pößneck: guided tour of the Pößneck-Ost cogeneration plant

As part of the celebrations to mark the 700th anniversary of the city of Pößneck, Stadtwerke Jena Netze is offering an event in January.

The current and future district heating supply of Pößneck is the topic of a guided tour followed by a lecture on Wednesday, January 24, 2024. Interested parties are welcome to attend from 5 p.m. at Kurzackerstraße 14. A tour of the Pößneck-Ost combined heat and power plant, the largest of the three district heating plants currently in Pößneck, is planned first. During the 45-minute tour, Steffen Brandt from the district heating/generation network operation department will offer a rare glimpse behind the scenes of heat generation and report on the technology currently available and the necessary operating resources. Dr. Marc Schmid from the strategy department of Stadtwerke Jena Netze will then provide information on the company's plans to restructure heat generation. The aim is to provide CO2-free district heating for households by 2040.
