Municipal heat planning
Jena
Which climate-friendly form of heating makes the most sense in which part of Jena? And above all: Which is the most economical for the customer? Municipal heat planning answers these questions. Jena was one of the first municipalities in Thuringia to present such a plan. Following the conclusion of the public participation process, the draft is currently being discussed in the city council committees. It could be adopted at the end of June. The municipal utilities have been working closely on the plan and are now taking it step by step into concrete action. You can find the results on our interactive map.

Greater heat: heat network strategy 2040
Together with Thüringer Energie AG, Stadtwerke Jena is developing a strategy to decarbonize Jena's district heating supply.
The core of this strategy is the conversion of heat generation at the Winzerla combined heat and power plant to renewable energies. In particular, existing environmental heat is to be used, but also hydrogen and biogas.
