Adern von Jena

Rethinking the existing: Over a length of four kilometers, our district heating pipelines run through almost the entire city - a bit like lifelines. They supply people with heating and hot water. However nowadays, they function as even more than supply lines: Since 2004, we have been using the pipelines for campaigns, events and art projects. Moreover, we have been actively incorporating them into the landscaping. In this way, a „necessary burden“ has become an enrichment to Jena's cityscape.
